About The Position
This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the HSS4102B course, Developmental Origins of Health and Disease, during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is with the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The TA will assist the professor with various tasks related to the course, which is offered in a hybrid format. The role involves helping with the correction of assignments and exams, proctoring exams, and potentially holding office hours (in-person or online) to address student inquiries. The TA will be required to come to campus occasionally and must have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
Requirements
- Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
- Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams
- Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
- Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
- Access to a computer, Internet, microphone and webcam
- Must complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University
Responsibilities
- Help with correction of assignments and exams
- Proctoring of exams
- Hold in-person or online office hours to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times
- Correction of the final exam
