About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the course Technology and Health (HSS3332B) during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is for 60 hours and is classified under CUPE. The TA will assist the professor with grading assignments and exams, proctoring exams, and potentially holding office hours to address student inquiries. The course is offered in a hybrid format, requiring occasional campus visits. The TA will need access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. This contract includes supervision and correction of the final exam. The number of positions filled depends on the total enrollment at the start of the term. All University of Ottawa employees must complete mandatory legislated training. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams
Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
Access to a computer, Internet, microphone and webcam

Responsibilities

Help with correction of the assignments and exams
Proctoring of exams
Hold in-person or online office hours to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times
Supervision and correction of the final exam
