About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the CHYS 3P15 Winter D3 - Quantitative Research Methods in Child and Youth Studies course. This position involves scheduled contact time with students, preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The role also includes Marker-Grader responsibilities and requires availability to meet with the Instructor between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Requirements

• Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
• Must have previously completed CHYS 3P15 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
• Previous successful experience as a Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P15 will be considered as equivalent.
• Current applied knowledge of SPSS for Windows. Cover letter must detail experience.
• Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
