About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the course PHI1101-D00, Reasoning and Critical Thinking, during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa. The position is under the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. The TA will be responsible for a combination of duties as per Article 4.3.1, which may include correcting assignments, attending lectures (in-class or online), consulting with students (in-person or online), and proctoring exams. The expected enrollment for the course is 200 students, and there are 2 positions available. The total work hours for each position are 116.25. The hourly rate depends on the student's status: undergraduate students will be paid $31.89/hour, and graduate students will be paid $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and are subject to change based on a new collective agreement. All mandatory legislated training must be completed by the employee.
