About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) position for the course PHI1101-C00, Reasoning and Critical Thinking, during the 2026 Fall Semester. The position involves a combination of duties as per Article 4.3.1, which may include correcting assignments, attending lectures (in-class and online), consulting with students (in-person and online), and proctoring exams. The total work hours for this position are 116.25. The hourly rate depends on student status: undergraduate students will be paid at $31.89/hour, and graduate students will be paid at $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. All University of Ottawa employees must complete mandatory legislated training. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
