About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the ADV. TECH. IN BIOSCIENCE course (BPS4127) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The TA will be responsible for assisting with laboratory sessions, which are broken into two 3-hour time slots over two days. TAs are expected to arrive 10 minutes before the lab starts and attend weekly lab meetings. The coordinator fosters a friendly workspace and encourages open communication. Requirements

• Familiarity with modern concepts in genomics, molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry.
• Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
• Graduate students are preferred.
• Strong molecular and/or cellular biology experience is strongly encouraged.
• Experience in bioinformatics, gene cloning, cell manipulation and transfections, and fluorescence microscopy is relevant.
• Must be available for the lab time slots (Wednesday Afternoon to Thursday Morning OR Thursday Afternoon to Friday Morning, 1-4 pm or 8:30 am-11:30 am).

• Graduate students are preferred as this is a 4th year course meant to showcase graduate-level research.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory sessions for ADV. TECH. IN BIOSCIENCE (BPS4127).
• Attend weekly lab meetings to go over scheduled experiments.
• Be present at the lab 10 minutes before the lab starts.
• Engage in preparation, contact with students, and grading for the course.
• Participate in proctoring duties.
