About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the "Techniques avancées en biosciences" (BPS4527) course during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for assisting with laboratory sessions, which include preparation, contact with students, grading, and proctoring. The role requires professional and ethical conduct, with an emphasis on a friendly work environment. Weekly lab meetings will be held with all TAs before the labs commence. The labs are divided into two 3-hour time slots over two days, with the French section running from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning. TAs must arrive at the lab at least 10 minutes before the start of the class. Requirements

  • Familiarity with modern concepts in genomics, molecular and cellular biology, and biochemistry.
  • Successful completion of workshops on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • Graduate students are preferred as this is a fourth-year course intended to introduce higher-level research (Master's or Doctoral level).
  • Strong background in molecular and/or cellular biology is highly encouraged.
  • Experience with bioinformatics, gene cloning, cell manipulation, transfections, and fluorescence microscopy is relevant.
