About The Position
This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry (CHM3126) during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for helping students in and out of the lab, correcting lab reports and final examinations, giving a review session for the final exam, monitoring a final exam, and implementing safety guidelines in the laboratory. The position is classified under CUPE and is for a specific course. The expected enrollment is 40 students, and there are 4 positions available. The work is scheduled to start on September 01, 2026, and end on December 31, 2026, with a total of 130 work hours.
Requirements
- Successfully completed one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry and a 4000 level course in organic chemistry, or their equivalents.
- Passed the workshops on the Information System on Hazardous Materials Used at Work (SIMDUT) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (SST Act).
- All persons who are not graduate students in chemistry must pass a test to qualify.
