About The Position
This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the HSS2105 course, "UNDERSTANDING MENTAL HEALTH", Section A, during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for assisting the professor with various tasks related to the course, including grading assignments and exams, and holding office hours to address student inquiries. The course instruction mode is hybrid, requiring occasional campus visits. The position is covered by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
Requirements
- Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent.
- Skilled at writing in English to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams.
- Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant).
- Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content).
- Access to a computer, Internet, microphone and webcam.
- Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
Responsibilities
- Help with correction of written assignments and exams.
- Hold online and in person office hours to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times.
- Supervision and correction of the final exam.
