About The Position

This posting is for teachers with recall status and external applicants who may apply for vacancies for which they are qualified. Teachers with recall status must apply using their Internal Profile to ensure their seniority is recognized. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018. SRCE delivers the public school program with a focus on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. With approximately 1,166 employees, SRCE operates 20 schools serving about 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations in the 2024-2025 school year. Located in northeastern Nova Scotia, SRCE's jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties. Hired or recalled teachers will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

• Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
• Major or Minor in English.
• Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level.
• Excellent classroom and student management skills.
• Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
• Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning.
• Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one of which must be the most recent supervisor.
• Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
