About The Position
This posting is for a Term Science 9/10 Teacher position at Dr John Hugh Gillis Regional. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to deliver the public school program with a focus on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Bachelor of Science
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment
