LA Alliance•Los Angeles, CA
•$32,000 - $52,500•Onsite

About The Position

Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, in collaboration with Marshall Teacher Residency, offers a one-year, hands-on student teaching residency for aspiring teachers. Residents spend four days per week at an Alliance school working with scholars and one full day per week attending teacher credential coursework. For the 2027–28 residency year, applications are accepted only from candidates pursuing a Single Subject credential in Mathematics, Science, or English Language Arts, or an Education Specialist (Special Education) credential. Residents learn alongside experienced educators, receive guidance from mentor teachers, and develop teaching skills through classroom practice, data-driven learning, collaboration, and credential coursework. The program supports residents in developing effective instruction, classroom culture, assessment, and relationship-building skills. Upon successful completion of program and credential requirements, residents earn a California Preliminary Teaching Credential and may pursue opportunities to become full-time Alliance teachers. For the 2027–28 academic year, Alliance anticipates 10 residency placements: nine Alliance Scholarship Placements offering up to $52,500 in combined financial support, and one Marshall-funded placement offering a $32,000 living stipend. Residents are student interns and are not employees of Alliance or Marshall. Alliance scholarships are limited, subject to funding and program requirements, and awarded as selected candidates accept placements. Candidates who accept placements receive assistance applying for the Golden State Teacher Grant, which may provide additional tuition support but is not guaranteed.
