Teacher Assistant - Sunset Montessori School
About The Position
Sunset Montessori School, a division of the Hearing and Speech Center of Florida's educational programs, is dedicated to Montessori Early Childhood education for children aged 1.5-7 years. The school follows the Montessori Methodology and seeks dedicated credentialed staff members. The school offers small teacher-child ratios and beautiful grounds. We are currently seeking Montessori teachers as well as Assistants who MUST BE PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH and ideally bilingual in Spanish or French. The assistant will work with the school team on caring for children and educational programming, providing quality, child-directed education within small teacher/child ratios. The position can be full-time, part-time, or annual (including a summer program), with a minimum of 25-30 hours sought.
Requirements
- Proficient in English.
- DCF staff certificate required to work with preschool aged children.
- CPR certificate.
- Level 2 fingerprints.
- Ability to work well with families and other team members.
- Montessori certification or ability to train and get certified immediately.
- Complete understanding and ability to implement all regulatory processes.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in Spanish or French.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish language).
- Experience as a Montessori teacher assistant.
Responsibilities
- Work with the school team on caring for children and educational programming.
- Provide quality and child-directed education to children within small teacher/child ratios.
- Participate in parent and staff meetings pertaining to programs you serve.
- Participation in programmatic planning for summer programs.
