About The Position

The Montessori Assistant Teacher supports the Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher across all areas of the classroom. As part of a team of educators, the Assistant Teacher helps provide children with an authentic Montessori experience, supports their daily care, and contributes to a fun and interactive learning environment. Under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide, the role also develops skills in observing and assessing children, planning activities, and communicating effectively with families. The position includes extensive training on child care and development.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have experience in a licensed child care center, Montessori school, or related field.
• Have completed a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state education requirements; additional school requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Montessori training, certification, or experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow licensing guidelines and school and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
• Work with a Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher to facilitate fun and interactive learning experiences in an authentic Montessori classroom.
• Develop the ability to observe and assess children accurately and plan activities for them, under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Communicate effectively with families under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Complete extensive training on child care and development topics.
