About The Position

The Montessori Assistant Teacher supports the Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher across all classroom areas. Working as part of a team of educators, the Assistant Teacher helps provide children with an authentic Montessori experience and supports their daily care, learning, and development. The role includes following licensing guidelines and school and company standards; facilitating fun, interactive learning experiences; developing skills in observing and assessing children and planning activities; communicating with families under the lead teacher’s or guide’s guidance; and completing training on childcare and child development.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have experience in a licensed childcare center, Montessori school, or related field.
• Have completed a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state education requirements; additional school requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Montessori training, certification, or experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow licensing guidelines and school and company standards to ensure daily care of every child.
• Work with a Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher to facilitate fun and interactive learning experiences in an authentic Montessori classroom.
• Develop the ability to observe and assess children accurately and plan activities for them under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Communicate effectively with families under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Complete training on childcare and child development topics.
