About The Position

The Montessori Assistant Teacher supports the Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher in all areas of the classroom. Working as part of a team of educators, the Assistant Teacher helps provide children with an authentic Montessori experience. The role includes caring for children in accordance with licensing guidelines and school and company standards, facilitating engaging learning experiences, developing observation, assessment, activity-planning, and family-communication skills under the lead teacher’s guidance, and completing training on child care and development.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Experience in a licensed child care center, Montessori school, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent completed.
• Meet state education requirements; additional school requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Montessori training, certification, or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow licensing guidelines and school and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
• Work with a Montessori Guide or Lead Teacher to facilitate fun, interactive learning experiences in an authentic Montessori classroom.
• Develop the ability to observe and assess children accurately and plan activities for them under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Communicate effectively with families under the guidance of the lead teacher or guide.
• Complete training on child care and development topics.
