About The Position

Leading Edge is hiring Teacher Assistants for its PreK before- and after-school care programs at PBP Cheesequake and PBP Selover in Sayreville, New Jersey. The role supports 3- and 4-year-old children in a warm, play-based setting focused on early social, emotional, and school-readiness skills. The position offers afternoon hours Monday through Friday, with morning shifts as needed and earlier starts on occasional early-dismissal days. Work may be up to about 30 hours per week, depending on enrollment and availability. Teaching Assistants earn $17 or more per hour. Leading Edge describes itself as a provider of before- and after-school programs. Its PreK programs offer young children a safe, nurturing place to learn through play, build friendships, and develop confidence for kindergarten and beyond.

Requirements

Must be 18 or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Available Monday through Friday and able to start at 1:25 pm.
Genuine passion for working with preschool-aged children.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Childcare or early childhood experience is preferred for Teaching Assistants.

Responsibilities

Implement the Leading Edge curriculum through age-appropriate, play-based activities.
Support young children with routines, transitions, snack time, and self-care.
Foster social-emotional growth, early literacy, fine motor skills, and positive behavior.
Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
Maintain program quality according to company and New Jersey state licensing standards.
Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios at all times.
Communicate warmly and professionally with families and school staff.
Complete administrative tasks such as attendance and licensing paperwork.
