About The Position

The Teacher Aide at Dream Center Academy Christian School supports teachers in providing a safe, organized, and Christ-centered learning environment. The Teacher Aide assists with classroom instruction, supervision, classroom management, and daily operations while encouraging students to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Teacher Aides are expected to model Christian values, demonstrate professionalism, and contribute to a positive school culture through teamwork and servant leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Professes a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Active member in good standing of a local Christian church.
  • Demonstrates a lifestyle consistent with biblical Christian values.
  • Supports and upholds the school's Statement of Faith without reservation.
  • Willing and able to pray with and mentor students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk, computer, and phone for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the campus as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (files, office and classroom supplies).
  • Review, sign, and comply with the Confidentiality and Non-Solicitation Agreement.
  • Review, sign, and comply with the Employee Lifestyle and Conduct Covenant.
  • Review, sign, and comply with the Statement of Faith.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or college coursework in education (preferred).
  • Experience working with children in a school, church, daycare, or youth program (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Provide academic support to students needing additional assistance.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Organize classroom supplies and learning centers.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • Assist substitute teachers as needed.
  • Supervise students during arrival and morning welcome, hallway transitions, restroom breaks, lunch, recess, specials (as assigned), chapel, assemblies, field trips, dismissal, and emergency drills.
  • Reinforce teacher-directed lessons.
  • Assist with reading and math interventions.
  • Support writing, spelling, and science activities.
  • Help students remain engaged during instruction.
  • Encourage positive work habits and independence.
  • Assist with educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Reinforce classroom rules and routines.
  • Encourage respectful and responsible behavior.
  • Help redirect inappropriate behaviors using positive and restorative practices.
  • Assist with conflict resolution under teacher guidance.
  • Promote a positive classroom environment.
  • Prepare copies and instructional materials.
  • Organize student folders and classroom resources.
  • Record attendance or assist with attendance procedures as directed.
  • Help maintain student records while protecting confidentiality.
  • Assist with bulletin boards and classroom decorations.
  • Inventory classroom supplies and notify the teacher when materials need replenishing.
  • Participate in Teacher Professional Development, Faculty Meetings (as assigned), Open House, Parent Events, Spirit Week, Field Day, School Programs, Chapel Services, Graduation Ceremonies, and Community Outreach Activities.
  • Communicate respectfully with students, staff, and families.
  • Refer academic or behavioral concerns to the lead teacher.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Arrive on time and prepared each day.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Dress professionally according to the employee handbook.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and administrators.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Represent Dream Center Academy Christian School positively in the community.
  • Provide dependable support to classroom teachers.
