About The Position

Introduction to the teaching of one of many disciplines at the intermediate and senior divisions. Impact of the particular discipline on the whole learner; individualized instruction; theoretical framework and pedagogical implications; critical examination and interpretation of relevant curriculum guidelines. Development of programs; analysis and application of specific teaching strategies and techniques unique to the discipline. Evaluation procedures and techniques. In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in education
  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario
  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level
  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers
