About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Economics at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Macroeconomics (ECO1102C) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers topics such as macro versus microeconomics, national accounting, aggregate demand, national income determination, business cycles, fiscal and monetary policy, banking systems, unemployment, inflation, stabilization policy controversies, and Canadian macroeconomic policy. The expected enrollment is 350 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The instruction language is English.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Economics.
  • Demonstrate recent professional experience as an economist in the public, para-public, or private sectors (required for consideration).
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience may be viewed as equivalent to the required education and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
