Taproom Host Cashier (8281)
About The Position
The Taproom Host Cashier serves customers dining at Spotlight 29 and Tortoise Rock Casino. The role handles cash, credit, and comp procedures; completes required paperwork; and performs guest-service cashier and host duties. The position is expected to deliver the organization’s Five Star Experience by putting guests’ and fellow Team Members’ experience first and consistently providing welcoming, proactive, seamless, personalized, and valued service. The employee performs cashiering and guest-service duties in accordance with standard operating procedures, policies, safety rules, and applicable internal control standards. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. Work may take place at multiple locations, including gaming facilities, and requires flexibility to work any hours, weekends, and holidays, as well as availability for emergency calls 24/7.
Requirements
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must pass periodic random drug screens.
- Must pass a background suitability investigation.
- Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
- Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.
- Must maintain consistent, regular attendance.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays, any and all hours, and emergency calls 24/7.
- Must be able to meet the stated physical demands, including occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to guests and employees, and deliver the Five Star Experience in accordance with the Mission Statement, Service Promise, and departmental service standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
- Perform assigned cashier duties according to standard operating procedures and policies.
- Count and verify cash exchanges with outlet servers and guests.
- Process guest charges, including credit cards, comps, discounts, and cash payments.
- Reconcile and complete required daily reports.
- Make change or exchanges for internal customers and Team Members.
- Assist with preparing daily bank deposits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of restaurant areas and work stations, and complete required side work.
- Follow Spotlight 29, Tortoise Rock Casino, and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain appearance standards under departmental and property policies.
- Provide information about Players Club 29 benefits, property amenities, and marketing promotions.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and provide courteous service to guests and Team Members.
- Maintain consistent, regular attendance.
- Ensure compliance with Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
- Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to guests and vendors and assist them as required.
- Attend scheduled safety meetings and training and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
