About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality service through skilled garment fitting and alteration work. The role measures customers, fits garments, marks areas requiring alterations, completes fittings and sewing alterations on time, and follows Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor uses store technology to manage customer alteration needs, meets productivity goals while following proper procedures, and collaborates with the Alterations and Store Team. The role also educates customers and employees about fit, style, garment construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner. A flexible schedule based on business needs is required.

Requirements

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; 2–3 years is preferred.
Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 2–3 years of fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Measure customers for size and fit garments on customers, marking areas that require alterations.
