About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality tailoring service by measuring customers, fitting garments, marking areas for alterations, and completing fittings and sewing alterations on time in accordance with Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The role uses store technology to manage customer alteration needs, meets individual and department productivity goals while following proper procedures, and works collaboratively with the Alterations and Store teams. The Tailor also educates customers and employees about proper fit, style, garment construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner. A flexible schedule based on business needs is required.

Requirements

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; a minimum of 2–3 years is preferred.
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
• Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience, preferably 2–3 years.
