About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality alterations and service. The role measures customers, fits garments, marks alteration areas, completes fittings and sewing alterations on time, and follows Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor also uses store technology to organize customer alteration needs, works with the Alterations and Store teams, and explains fit, style, construction, and trends to customers and employees in a professional, friendly manner.

Requirements

• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
• Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; 2–3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size and fit garments on customers, marking areas requiring alterations.
• Complete customer fittings on time and perform sewing alterations according to Nordstrom guidelines and service standards.
• Meet department and individual productivity goals while following proper processes and procedures.
• Use store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs.
• Work collaboratively with the Alterations and Store teams to meet customer expectations.
• Educate customers and employees about proper fit, style, construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner.
