About The Position
The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with quality garment-fitting and alteration services. The role measures customers, fits garments, identifies and marks areas requiring alterations, and completes fittings and sewing alterations on time according to Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor works toward department and individual productivity goals, uses store technology to organize alteration needs, and collaborates with the Alterations and Store teams to meet customer expectations. The role also educates customers and employees about proper fit, style, construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner. A flexible schedule may be needed based on business needs.
Requirements
- Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; a minimum of 2–3 years is preferred.
- Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
- Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
- Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.
Nice To Haves
