Credence•Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
•$160,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Credence is hiring a Systems Engineering Manager to support Army PM PNT. The role provides technical leadership and oversight of systems engineering activities throughout the product life cycle, guiding engineering processes, coordinating technical efforts, managing risk, and advising leadership on decisions affecting performance, cost, schedule, and integration. The manager leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems engineering processes and documentation, and oversees engineering for classified and unclassified PM PNT products. This includes concept development, requirements, system design and architecture, modeling and simulation, integration, test and evaluation, hardware and software validation, host platform integration, and field demonstrations. The role coordinates technical reviews and engineering participation in Integrated Product Teams, working groups, and technical meetings. The position oversees integration of PM PNT products with client systems on Army platforms and ensures engineering activities and artifacts align with applicable DoD guidance and IEEE Standard 1220. It guides DoDAF products and other engineering artifacts; assesses existing products and emerging PNT and augmentation technologies; and provides oversight and recommendations for sensor design, hardware, software, and network integration, experimentation, and demonstrations. The role also reviews acquisition documentation and technical data artifacts, maintains product-data relationships, and guides requirements database development and maintenance. The manager supports the Director of Systems Engineering in setting engineering standards and interfaces, knowledge management practices, and digital engineering policy. The position evaluates complex technical problems, presents findings and recommendations for O6-level decisions, coordinates priorities and technical actions across stakeholders, and uses independent judgment while elevating matters requiring leadership input. An active Secret security clearance is required. The stated annual salary range is $160,000–$200,000, with actual compensation based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a systems engineering field and 10 years of experience, or a master’s degree and 8 years of experience in systems engineering for DoD systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of systems engineering processes and documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans, configuration management plans, risk management plans, and integrated master plans aligned with product objectives and integrated master schedules.
  • Oversee systems engineering activities for classified and unclassified PM PNT products across concept development, requirements, design and architecture, modeling and simulation, integration, test and evaluation, validation, platform integration, and field demonstrations.
  • Lead engineering coordination for technical reviews, assess technical readiness, recommend improvements, and oversee resolution of engineering issues and review actions.
  • Guide engineering participation in Integrated Product Teams, working groups, and technical meetings; coordinate subject-matter-expert inputs and develop actionable recommendations for PM PNT leadership.
  • Oversee integration of PM PNT products with client systems on Army platforms, addressing operational benefits and constraints, interoperability, sustainment, and DOTMLPF impacts.
  • Ensure systems engineering activities and documentation align with applicable DoD guidance and IEEE Standard 1220.
  • Guide development, review, and maintenance of DoDAF products and other engineering artifacts, ensuring consistency across requirements, architectures, configurations, and program plans.
  • Lead technical assessments of existing products and emerging PNT and augmentation technologies, evaluating technical feasibility and alignment with performance objectives, cost goals, and schedules.
  • Provide engineering oversight and recommendations for sensor design; hardware, software, and network integration; experimentation; and demonstrations.
  • Oversee engineering review and technical input for acquisition documentation, including SOOs, SOWs, PWSs, performance specifications, and solicitation documentation; provide technical advice during proposal evaluations.
  • Oversee review of technical data artifacts, maintain product-data relationships, and guide establishment and maintenance of requirements databases.
  • Support the Director of Systems Engineering in establishing and updating engineering standards and interfaces, defining and implementing knowledge management practices, and establishing digital engineering policy.
  • Lead evaluations of complex technical problems, integrate subject-matter-expert input, and present findings, alternatives, risks, and recommendations to support O6-level decisions.
  • Coordinate engineering priorities, dependencies, and technical actions across stakeholders to advance program objectives and resolve execution issues.
  • Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking to manage engineering efforts, identify decisions requiring leadership input, and elevate issues with clear recommendations.
