About The Position

The Boeing Attack Program is seeking a dynamic System Safety Engineering Manager (Systems Engineering Management) to manage the Product Integrity / Mission Assurance Team in Mesa, AZ. This individual will be responsible for leading the System Safety Engineering team. The position is expected to be 100% onsite in Mesa, AZ, with potential for some travel as business needs dictate. A U.S. Security Clearance is required for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities in full systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Experience with Avionics and/or System Safety
  • Experience with flight avionics design
  • Experience with the concepts of Model Based Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital System Modeling

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the identification, analysis, and assessment of regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services.
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of System Safety.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
