System Float Pool Nursing Assistant, Full-Time
About The Position
Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its System Float Pool. This entry-level opportunity offers on-the-job training for applicants interested in healthcare who are not certified, and may also suit experienced Certified Nursing Assistants seeking a supportive workplace. The role helps improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience by floating between departments according to staffing and patient care needs. The position floats among the Saint Luke’s Plaza, East, North, South, and Smithville locations. This is a full-time day position with three shifts per week, from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. The Nursing Assistant provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and works with other healthcare team members to support patient care.
Requirements
- Two years of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement).
- Mandt/CPI APS training through Healthstream.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.
- Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, personal hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
- Anticipate patients’ family needs proactively.
- Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
- Float between departments and locations as needed based on staffing and patient care needs.
