System Float Pool Nursing Assistant, Full-Time
About The Position
Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its System Float Pool. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training for applicants who are interested in healthcare but are not certified, and may also suit an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant seeking a supportive workplace. The role helps improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience by floating between departments according to staffing and patient-care needs. The Nursing Assistant provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN and works with other healthcare team members to support patient care. The position is full-time days, with three shifts per week from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., and floats among the Saint Luke’s Plaza, East, North, South, and Smithville locations.
Requirements
- Two years of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement).
- Mandt/CPI APS training.
- HealthStream training.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.
- Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, personal hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
- Proactively anticipate patients’ family needs.
- Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
- Float between departments and locations as needed based on staffing and patient-care needs.
