System Float Pool Nursing Assistant, Part-Time
About The Position
Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its float pool. This entry-level opportunity offers on-the-job training for applicants who are interested in healthcare but are not certified, and may also suit experienced Certified Nursing Assistants seeking a supportive workplace. The Nursing Assistant floats between departments and locations as staffing and patient-care needs require, helping improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience. The role provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN. This is a part-time night position, working two 12.5-hour shifts per week from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The position floats among Saint Luke’s Plaza, East, North, South, and Smithville locations.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement).
- Mandt/CPI APS training through HealthStream.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, personal hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
- Anticipate patients’ family needs proactively.
- Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
- Float between departments and locations as needed based on staffing and patient-care needs.
