About The Position

Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for an entry-level role with on-the-job training available for applicants who are interested in healthcare but are not certified. The position may also suit an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant seeking a supportive workplace. The Nursing Assistant floats between departments and metro locations as staffing and patient-care needs require, helping improve hospital throughput and capacity and enhance the patient experience. The role provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.

This is a part-time night position, working two 12.5-hour shifts per week from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The role floats among Saint Luke’s Plaza, East, North, South, and Smithville locations.

Requirements

• One year of applicable experience.
• Basic Life Support RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement).
• Mandt/CPI APS training through Healthstream.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience or certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, personal hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
• Anticipate patients’ family needs proactively.
• Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
• Float between departments and locations as needed based on staffing and patient-care needs.
