About The Position

Saint Luke’s East in Lee's Summit is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient care and help improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience. Nursing Assistants provide individualized care in a positive and supportive work environment, treating patients and colleagues with respect and kindness. The role is open to experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), nursing assistants, and patient care technicians, as well as people interested in starting a career in patient care. Candidates who are not certified or lack applicable experience receive six weeks of full-time, on-the-job training. The position is full-time and works nights. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, with night and weekend differentials when working those shifts. Seasonal or temporary employment is not available.

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Applicable experience: less than one year; candidates without applicable experience may receive six weeks of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks.
Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
Anticipate the needs of patients’ families in a proactive manner.
Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
Collaborate with other health care team members to enhance patient care.
