Switcher (2nd Shift)
About The Position
Universal Logistics is seeking a Yard Switcher (Yard Driver) to move trailers in and out of dock doors, perform yard checks, maintain trailer organization, and communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and leadership teams. The role requires safe operation of yard equipment and adherence to company and safety procedures. The position is based in Romulus, Michigan, and is performed in person. It offers steady, full-time work and home-daily scheduling. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Training takes place on first shift for 1–2 weeks, depending on experience. Starting pay is $24.50 per hour. Universal Logistics describes itself as a provider of transportation and logistics services, including transportation, value-added, intermodal, and specialized services across supply chains.
Requirements
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
- Ability to commute to Romulus, MI 48174 is required.
- Must relocate to Romulus, MI 48174 before starting work if relocation is needed.
