Switcher (2nd Shift)
About The Position
Universal Logistics is seeking a Yard Switcher (Yard Driver) to move trailers in and out of dock doors and keep the yard organized. The role offers steady, full-time work and competitive pay starting at $22.50 per hour, with a $0.75 per hour premium for third shift. The position is based in person in Romulus, Michigan, and offers home-daily work and long-term career opportunities. The listed schedules are second shift, 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and third shift, 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Training is conducted on first shift for one to two weeks, depending on experience level.
Requirements
- Strong safety awareness.

- Ability to commute to Romulus, MI 48174.
- Ability to relocate to Romulus, MI 48174 before starting work.
Responsibilities
- Move trailers in and out of dock doors.
- Perform yard checks and maintain trailer organization.
- Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and leadership teams.
- Ensure safe operation of yard equipment at all times.
- Follow all company and safety procedures.
