About The Position

The Switchboard Operator streamlines communications and provides exceptional customer service to patients, employees, and customers of Choctaw Nation Health Care. The position reports to the Manager. It is a PRN, part-time role available any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. The stated starting pay range is $15.50–$17.50. Weekly earned wage access is available as an option.

Requirements

Computer knowledge with typing accuracy of 35 words per minute.
Knowledge of HIPAA.

Responsibilities

Answer and screen calls promptly and professionally, transfer callers to the appropriate department, take detailed messages, and distribute them using electronic systems.
Review RPMS for existing patient charts, verify patient information, and establish temporary charts for new patients.
Access patient charts in the EHR to answer questions and assist with medication refills, lab orders, consults, messages, and other accessible information.
Complete pre-registration, reminder calls, and appointment rescheduling for assigned providers.
Monitor requests in the MyCNHSA app, schedule appointments, or forward requests for further information.
Assist patients and guests with questions about hours of operation, directions to the clinic, walk-in hours, and services offered.
Announce emergency codes over the overhead paging system.
Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with Choctaw Nation Health Services Privacy and Security Code regulations.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
