About The Position
EP² provides complete power management systems for commercial and utility industries in power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Switchboard Electrician is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and is an essential member of Electrical Power Products, Inc. production and assembly. Reporting to the Switchboard Electrician Foreman, this person performs the duties of a Journeyman in addition to the other responsibilities of the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Close attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and strong organization.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to assist and support others.
Responsibilities
- Read wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Operate department tools and equipment.
- Perform panel wiring, including bunch, bundle, gutter, and form wiring.
- Install and wire instruments using layout sketches, prints, wiring diagrams, or schematics.
- Install various types of nameplates.
- Identify possible errors or discrepancies in layout prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other phases of work, and bring them to the attention of the proper authority.
