About The Position

EP² provides complete power management systems for commercial and utility industries involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Switchboard Electrician is based in Des Moines, Iowa, and supports Electrical Power Products, Inc. production and assembly. Reporting to the Department Foreman, the electrician performs Journeyman duties along with the other responsibilities of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pays close attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and good organization.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to assist and support others.

Responsibilities

• Read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Operate all department tools and equipment.
• Perform phases and types of panel wiring, including bunch, bundle, gutter, and form wiring.
• Install and wire instruments using a simple layout sketch, prints, wiring diagram, or schematic.
• Install various types of nameplates.
• Check for possible errors or discrepancies in layout prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other work, and bring them to the attention of the proper authority.
• Assist and support others.
