About The Position

EP² provides complete power management systems for commercial and utility industries, supporting power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Switchboard Electrician is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and is an essential member of Electrical Power Products, Inc.'s production and assembly team. Reporting to the Switchboard Electrician Foreman, this person performs Journeyman duties along with the other responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and good organizational skills.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to assist and support others.

Responsibilities

• Read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Operate all department tools and equipment.
• Perform all phases and types of panel wiring, including bunch, bundle, gutter, and form wiring.
• Install and wire instruments using a simple layout sketch, prints, wiring diagram, or schematic.
• Install various types of nameplates.
• Look for possible errors or discrepancies in layout prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other phases of work, and bring them to the attention of the proper authority.
