Sustainment Lead / O&S Manager

Koniag Government Services•Washington, DC

About The Position

Tuknik Government Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Sustainment Lead / O&S Manager to support a U.S. Army customer on a large-scale Army contracting systems modernization and automation program. The role owns day-to-day operational health, Tier 3 execution, DLA coordination, and the safe release of fixes and sustainment improvements. It turns incidents, telemetry, vulnerabilities, and user pain points into measurable service restoration and permanent corrections. This is a contingent recruiting profile for a future new business opportunity; the opening, employing subsidiary, compensation, work location, and staffing depend on final contract authorization. The position leads application operations, sustainment, production support, and operational readiness. Work may occur remotely when authorized or at Government-approved locations. The Tier 3 team provides staggered Government-business-day coverage and may participate in after-hours priority-one incident escalation, approved release windows, or recovery exercises. Classified tickets and system details must remain within approved SIPRNet tools and facilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management, or a related field; additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Eight or more years supporting enterprise application operations, including at least three years leading production support or sustainment teams.
  • Experience managing major incidents, application releases, service metrics, root-cause analysis, and operational dependencies in a Federal environment.
  • Working knowledge of Appian operations, databases, interfaces, cybersecurity controls, and Agile sustainment backlogs.
  • U.S. citizenship and the active security clearance or eligibility required for the assigned work by the start of performance, with ongoing eligibility thereafter.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Government, technical, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate work records in approved systems and protect Controlled Unclassified Information and classified information as applicable.
  • Ability to comply with required access, training, and information-handling procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL Foundation or advanced service-management certification.
  • Experience sustaining Army acquisition, financial, or other Defense Business Systems.
  • Experience coordinating application operations within DLA PIEE or another shared DoD hosting boundary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operations, sustainment, production support, and operational readiness activities.
  • Establish the initial service baseline for applications, databases, interfaces, scheduled jobs, availability, performance, and ticket demand.
  • Manage Tier 3 intake, assignment, restoration, resolution, root-cause analysis, problem management, and verified closure.
  • Coordinate incidents, maintenance windows, releases, recovery exercises, and hosting dependencies with DLA PIEE and Government stakeholders.
  • Maintain service objectives, operational dashboards, escalation paths, runbooks, known-error records, and monthly service reviews.
  • Prioritize patches, hotfixes, vulnerabilities, data corrections, and sustainment backlog work according to mission and security risk.
  • Confirm fixes meet regression, security, rollback, production-validation, and authorization-evidence requirements.
  • Use incident trends, repeat failures, backlog age, and seasonal demand to adjust Tier 3 skill mix and swarm support.
  • Protect fiscal year-end and other peak operating periods through release planning, capacity review, and heightened monitoring.
  • Maintain operational continuity as capabilities migrate and legacy components move to read-only or retirement status.
  • Maintain accurate work records in approved systems.
  • Protect Controlled Unclassified Information and classified information, when assigned, and comply with required access, training, and handling procedures.
