About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the Labor and Delivery team at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. The role assists the surgical team during procedures, helps maintain a sterile environment, passes instruments to surgeons, and supports patient safety. Between surgeries, the technologist cleans and restocks the operating room. Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are important to providing quality patient care. The posting describes a PRN days position with various shifts and also refers to a part-time days opportunity.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES program.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Less than one year of Surgical Technologist experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program, preferably NBSTA or NCCT, is preferred but not required.
• Associate of Arts/Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and the progression of the case, and prepare accordingly.
• Ensure proper disposition of specimens and instruments.
• Work with the entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Clean and restock the operating room between surgeries.
• Hand instruments to surgeons during procedures.
