About The Position

Overall responsibility for scheduling surgical/procedural patients’ surgical/procedural procedures achieving 98% accuracy rate. The Surgical Scheduler communicates professionally with physicians, physicians' office staff and co-workers providing excellent customer service skills and works collaboratively with a variety of individuals. This role creates and schedules patients for surgical/procedural procedures in the appropriate Scheduling module. As needed, the Surgical Scheduler prints the daily OR schedule for the following day as well as the weekend schedule. The Surgical Scheduler answers all incoming phone calls with a proper greeting 100% of the time. Continuously checks department and individual voicemail throughout the day returning phone messages promptly. Responds to department emails as assigned in department rotation. Rearranges cases upon request of physicians or physicians' staff and/or charge nurse of HP OR, ESP OR, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath lab.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of related work experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required
