About The Position

The Surgical Scheduler obtains complete patient and insurance information to appropriately schedule patient testing. The role interacts daily with physician offices and various departments within the Medical Center to ensure patients receive services in a timely fashion. The position is based at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and follows a Monday–Friday day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient names and schedule ordered procedures.
• Obtain ordering physician and insurance information, and provide patients with instructions for their ordered tests or procedures.
• Communicate the Medical Center’s billing policies and procedures, as well as physician billing practices.
• Communicate with patients and appropriate departments about concerns and issues, and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Communicate and educate staff about system and scheduling updates.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving insurance payors, including payors that may or may not provide capitated services.
