About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and patient-focused Cataract & Refractive Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to join our fast-paced, high-volume ophthalmology practice specializing in cataract surgery and premium refractive lens technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized professional who enjoys educating patients, coordinating surgical care, and helping patients achieve outstanding visual outcomes through advanced cataract and refractive procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous ophthalmology experience required.
  • Strong patient counseling and sales skills with the ability to discuss elective refractive upgrades confidently and professionally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and scheduling systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Cataract surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of premium refractive lens technologies and cataract surgery workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel cataract surgery patients regarding surgical options and premium refractive lens technologies.
  • Educate patients on Toric, Multifocal, Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF), and Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) options.
  • Assist patients in selecting refractive lens packages based on their visual goals and physician recommendations.
  • Coordinate and schedule cataract and refractive surgeries with physicians and ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Maintain proactive communication with patients throughout the surgical process.
  • Place and manage intraocular lens (IOL) orders while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate surgical paperwork, authorizations, and scheduling logistics.
  • Work closely with physicians, technicians, surgery centers, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Manage a high-volume surgical schedule while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and customer service.
  • Answer patient questions regarding surgery preparation, financial responsibilities, postoperative expectations, and refractive options.
  • Track surgical cases and ensure all required documentation is completed prior to surgery dates.
