Requirements

• At least one year of dermatology experience.
• MA certificate of completion or diploma from a medical vocational program.
• Current active RN or LPN license or certification, with degree or diploma.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of vital signs.
• Working knowledge of dermatologic surgery and sterile technique.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Computer literacy.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly provider schedules to maximize utilization of provider availability.
• Monitor the biopsy log for accuracy and timely receipt of results, and ensure positive lesions are treated within 4–6 weeks of confirmed diagnosis.
• Initiate the skin cancer tracking tool and contact patients by phone and letter in a timely manner.
• Obtain precertifications and prior authorizations in a timely manner.
• Schedule all MOHS and cancer treatment surgeries.
• Maintain OSHA compliance.
• Complete patient call backs on the same day as the call.
• Assist physicians and mid-level providers with patient care.
• Document information in the medical record as appropriate.
• Contact patients by phone or mail to confirm upcoming surgeries and ensure all patient paperwork is completed before surgery.
• Develop good working relationships with the Location Manager and Regional Supervisor.
