About The Position

Responsible for scheduling inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures according to standards established by EvergreenHealth Surgical Services and EvergreenHealth Surgical Center. The role obtains necessary insurance pre-authorizations and benefits information, including estimates of copayments and deductibles, and communicates this information to patients. It also provides other clerical support needed for efficient clinic operations.

The position schedules surgical cases at EvergreenHealth in coordination with the availability of space, staffing, and equipment, and works cooperatively with schedulers at EvergreenHealth surgical facilities.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of scheduling experience in a medical environment.
• Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology.
• Keyboarding speed of 45 words per minute.
• Spelling, punctuation, grammar, and numerical skills.

Nice To Haves

• College or vocational training in medical terminology, insurance, and billing.
• Experience with surgery scheduling.
• Knowledge of Medicare, DSHS, and other third-party reimbursement regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned and other clerical work needed for efficient clinic operations.
