About The Position

The Surgery Scheduler schedules patients’ surgical procedures and maintains the surgery schedule, contributing to the surgery center’s mission, vision, and values. The position is at Medical City Ambulatory Surgery Center | Dallas, a north Dallas center that is AAAHC accredited and part of Surgery Ventures powered by HCA Healthcare.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a medical office setting.

Nice To Haves

• One year of medical scheduling experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information required from physician offices.
• Prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices to patients, and notify physician offices about these procedures.
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials Manager or Nurse Manager of physician requests or special equipment needed for upcoming surgeries or procedures.
• Determine the operating room time needed for surgeries and work with the OR nurse to streamline the daily schedule.
• Maintain the center block schedule list and arrange necessary anesthesia coverage.
• Contact physician offices by phone or fax to notify them of open schedule times that may allow additional cases at the center.
