About The Position

This role supports the implementation of lean supply management principles across the BU Laboratory network. It manages the movement and replenishment of materials and supplies to laboratory points of use, performs cycle counts and daily replenishment routines, and works with laboratory staff and supply analysts to maintain material availability. The position is a 5–6 month-plus contract with a high possibility of conversion to full-time. The posting gives White Plains, NY in its opening, but lists San Antonio, TX as the job location. The schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Central Time. The stated pay rate is $20.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, or supply chain work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with staff at all levels.
• Efficient planning and organizing skills.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of inventory control systems.
• Proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard business processes for managing material flow for facility types in the assigned region, including laboratories, RRL, PSC, and IOP.
• Participate in internal work teams to continually improve supply replenishment processes, with a focus on reducing overall cost and cycle time.
• Conduct regular physical inventory and cycle counts to ensure on-hand inventory accuracy.
• Maintain visual management tools such as Kanban and mistake-proofing initiatives such as labels with photos.
• Perform materials and supplies movement and replenishment to laboratory points of use, including daily replenishment routines.
