About The Position

This Supervisory Software Project Manager position supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the area of Support Services. The mission-critical program provides comprehensive training, safety, standards, curriculum development, and technical modernization services to ensure national border security agents can operate safely and effectively. Our specialized web application is the central hub for AMO flight records, safety tools, and online training. As the Software Project Manager, you lead the technical team responsible for upgrading, securing, and modernizing this portal, directly supporting the digital backbone of national border aviation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of software development program or software project management experience.
  • Deep expertise in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps frameworks, with proficiency in tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end planning, execution, and deployment of updates and enhancements to the critical tracking and reporting web portal.
  • Facilitate sprints, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospective reviews for the software development team.
  • Identify software-specific project risks, security vulnerabilities, and deployment hurdles, designing swift, effective mitigation plans.
  • Align technical roadmaps with CBP/AMO strategic objectives, providing regular updates to the software technical lead and stakeholders.
