About The Position

The Supervisor, Patient Access oversees patient access operations in the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Emergency Department in Evansville. This is an onsite night-shift role, Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The supervisor helps ensure accurate and complete registrations, including insurance eligibility and benefits verification; supports patients and resolves issues; coaches and trains staff; and monitors quality and compliance. The role assists the manager with staff evaluations by providing feedback about associates the supervisor has monitored or supervised. The position requires at least three years of experience, including at least one year in a management role. A bachelor’s degree is listed, though equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. The stated annual base pay range is $47,597.07 to $59,496.34, and the role is eligible for an annual bonus plan with a 5.00% target.

Responsibilities

Ensure the accuracy and completeness of daily registrations, including insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
Provide high-quality service to patients and resolve issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Serve as a liaison between clinical and administrative areas to support sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements.
Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to associates.
Train staff on policies, procedures, systems, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor quality assurance measures and ensure compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and other standards.
Assist the manager with staff evaluations by providing feedback on individuals the supervisor has monitored or supervised.
Ensure proper utilization of software and technology tools.
