About The Position

The Ocean Import Supervisor manages the import process for ocean freight shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies. The position oversees a team of ocean import freight forwarders and works with internal and external stakeholders to support timely, cost-effective shipment delivery. The role also supervises a team of ocean import coordinators.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Customs Broker (CCB) designation.
• Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems.
• Knowledge of import regulations and procedures for other transportation modes, such as air and land.
